Ragalar Bheyrav, Malkuns, Megh, Dipak kabi nomlar bilan, ularning shoxobchalari esa ragniylar deb ataladi. Raga O&#8217;rta asrdan ma&#8217;lum bo&#8217;lib, tarixiy jarayon davomida yangi kuy va asarlar bilan boyitildi. Hind musiqa olimlari Ragalarni muayyan ruhiy va axloqiy ta&#8217;siri jihatidan ajratadilar. Kunning muayyan vaqtlari (ertalabki, tushki Raga va hokazolar), yil fasllarida ijro etiladigan Ragalar bor. Raga ansambli tarkibiga, odatda, yakkaxon xonanda yoki yakkanavoz sozanda, usul beruvchi urma cholg&#8217;u ijrochisi va boshqa sozandalar kiradi.
