O&#8217;simliksimon Xivchinlilarni botaniklar o&#8217;simliklar dunyosiga kiritishadi. Xivchinlilarga 13-turkumga birlashtiriladigan 7000 dan ortiq tur kiradi. Tanasi duksimon, tuxumsimon, tsilindrsimon, sharsimon va boshqa shaklda. Uzunligi 2-3 mkm dan (leyshmaniya) 1 mm gacha (ayrim opalinalar). Xivchinlari 1 tadan bir necha mingtagacha, uzunligi bir necha 10 mkm. Ayrim Xivchinlilar xivchini asosida kinetoplast (kelib chiqishi bilan mitoxondriyalarga yaqin bo&#8217;lgan DNK saqlovchi organoid) bo&#8217;ladi (Kinetoplastidlar).
