Peterburg Badiiy Alademiya akademik (1865), professor (1873), manzara ustaxonasining rahbari (1894\u2014 95). Shishkin ijodining ilk davrida romantik manzara an&#8217;analariga ergashdi (&#8220;Valaam oroli manzarasi&#8221;, 1858 va boshqalar); 1860- yillardan kolorit va nurdagi shartlilikni yengib, ijodining yetakchi mavzuiga aylangan rus tabiatining ulug&#8217;vorligi, ko&#8217;rki, o&#8217;rmon manzaralarini ob&#8217;yektiv tasvirladi hamda peredvijniklarning asarlariga hamohang monumental va hayotbaxsh obrazlarni yaratdi (&#8220;kesilgan o&#8217;rmon&#8221;, 1867; &#8220;bug&#8217;doyzor&#8221;, 1878; &#8220;cheksiz o&#8217;rmon&#8221;, 1884; &#8220;qayinzor&#8221;, 1886; &#8220;Emanzor&#8221;, 1887 va boshqalar).
