Quyosh radioto&#8217;lqinlari to&#8217;g&#8217;risida fikrlar 19- asrdayoq ilgari surilgan va ularni qayd qilishga urinishlar bo&#8217;lgan. Faqat 1931 yil K. Yanskiy (AQSh) 14,6 metr to&#8217;lqin uzunligida somon yo&#8217;li radionurlanishini tasodifan qayd qildi va shu maqsadda parabolik antenna hamda sezgir priyomnikni qo&#8217;lladi. 2-jahon urushi yillarida radioto&#8217;lqinli aloqaga ehtiyoj sezildi. 1942 yil Quyoshning, 1945 yil Oyning tinch qolatdagi radionurlanishi, 1946 yil esa Oqqush yulduzlar turkumida &#8220;diskret&#8221; (kichik o&#8217;lchamli) radionurlanish manbai kashf qilindi. Osmon jismlarida ro&#8217;y berayotgan fizik hodisalarni o&#8217;rganishda 20-asr 60-yillaridan Radioastronomiyadan keng foydalanilmoqda. Kuzatilayotgan barcha radioastronomik hodisalar fizikaga ma&#8217;lum radionurlanish mexanizmlari bilan. Masalan, qattiq jism (sayyoralar va Quyosh sistemasidagi kichik jism)lardagi issiqlik nurlanishi; kosmik plazma (Galaktikadagi gaz tumanliklar, Quyosh va yulduzlar atmosferasi) ionlari maydonida issiqlik elektronlarining tormozlanish nurlanishi va boshqalar bilan bog&#8217;liq. Kosmik radionurlanishlar turli xil radioteleskoplar yordamida tekshiriladi. Keng polosali radiometrlarga tutash spektrlar, radiospektrograflarda spektral chiziqlar kuzatiladi.
