Qozog&#8217;iston xalq artisti (1975). Milliy kompozitorlik maktabi asoschilaridan. Olmaota konservatoriyasini tugatgan (1957). Olma-ota konservatoriyasi rektori (1967-75), professor (1979 yildan), Qozog&#8217;iston kompozitorlari uyushmasi raisi (1968-91), Qozog&#8217;iston Respublikasi Madaniyat vaziri (1991-93). Orkestr uchun yaratgan &#8220;Omongeldi&#8221; (1956), &#8220;Dayrabay&#8221; (1963), &#8220;Qudashaduman&#8221; (1973) va boshqa partituralar milliy cholg&#8217;u (do&#8217;mbira) kuylariga xos uslubiy an&#8217;analar va Yevropa simfonizmi uyg&#8217;unligiga asoslangan. Ijodida yirik mavzu va keng ko&#8217;lamli janrlarga izchil murojaat etgan: &#8220;Qamar suluv&#8221; (1963), &#8220;Alpamis&#8221; (1973), &#8220;Ablayxon&#8221; (1999) va boshqa operalar, &#8220;qayran Mayra&#8221; (1986) musiqali dramasi va boshqalar.
