Tarqoq elementlar tabiatda juda kam uchraydi. Tarqoq elementlar boshqa minerallar tarkibida quyidagi: &#8220;yetakchi&#8221; elementining izomorf o&#8217;rin almashinishi (masalan, gafniy, tsirkonli minerallarda); faqat mikrozond lash yordamida aniklanishi mumkin bo&#8217;lgan mikrominerallar (masalan, piritdagi telluridlar); &#8220;tuproqsimon&#8221; amorf minerallar yuzasiga shimilgan sorblashgan qo&#8217;shimchalar (masalan, montmorillonitdagi vanadiy, limonitdagi selen); metalloorganik birikmalar (masalan, ko&#8217;mirlarda) hosil bo&#8217;lishi; kristall panjaralarning nuqsonlarida Tarqoq elementlarning joylashishi shakllarida uchrashi mumkin. Tarqoq elementlar Yer po&#8217;stida nisbatan ko&#8217;proq mikdorda uchraganda ham, odatda, mustaqil minerallar hosil qilmaydi. Faqat ma&#8217;lum hollardagina Tarqoq elementlar (Sc, Tl, Ge, V, Se, Te, va Cd) o&#8217;z minerallarini hosil qilishi mumkin. Ularning boshqa elementlar orasida tarqoqdigi yoki o&#8217;z minerallarining vujudga kelishi tabiiy jarayonlarda Tarqoq elementlar kontsentrasiyalarining o&#8217;zaro nisbati va ularning keng tarqalgan geokimyoviy analoglari bilan aniqlanadi.
