Taraflar ba&#8217;zan davrada, ba&#8217;zan qarama-qarshi o&#8217;tirgan, turgan yoki yurgan holda tez javob berishga, o&#8217;z javoblarini lo&#8217;nda, serma&#8217;no, latif, ta&#8217;sirli, jozibali va kulgili chiqarishga harakat qiladilar. Javob topishda qaysi taraf mavzu, janr doirasidan chetlashsa yoki so&#8217;z tanlashda pala-partishlikka yo&#8217;l qo&#8217;ysa o&#8217;sha taraf yengilgan hisoblanadi. Tomoshabin o&#8217;z kulgisi va ehtirosli qiyqiriqlari bilan taraflar va ularning javoblariga baho berib boradi; mazmundor, serqochirim Askiyadan zavqlanadi, sayoz va qo&#8217;pollaridan ranjiydi. Askiyaning mazmunli, serzavq, kulgili chiqishida taraflardan hozirjavoblik, badihago&#8217;ylik, shuningdek mavzuga aloqador keng va chuqur ma&#8217;noli so&#8217;zlarni topa bilish, yuz, ko&#8217;z, qo&#8217;l, tana harakatlaridan, tovush va imo-ishoralardan o&#8217;rinli foydalana bilish talab etiladi. Askiya turlarini mukammal egallagan, katta davralarda tortisha oladigan kishilar askiyachi, askiyaboz deb ataladi. Turkistonda bunday kishilar badihago&#8217;y nomi bilan yuritilgan. Askiyachi tilning keng imkoniyatlarini puxta egallagan, so&#8217;z o&#8217;yini, qochirim, hazil-mutoyiba, kinoya, tashbih, kesatiq, o&#8217;xshatish, mubolag&#8217;a, masxara kabi hajv san&#8217;ati vositalaridan ustalik bilan foydalana oladigan bo&#8217;lishi lozim. Askiya tortishuvida zakiylik, hozir-javoblik asosiy mezon hisoblanadi. Askiyaning vazifasi kulgi chiqarish orqali kishilarning kayfiyatini rostlash, ularga zavq baxsh etish, muayyan mavzu doirasida ularning bilimlarini yanada kengaytirish, aqlini, fikrini charxlash, ziyrak, hozirjavob bo&#8217;lishga da&#8217;vat etish, shu bilan birga turmushdagi va ayrim kishilar xulqidagi kamchiliklar ustidan yengil kulgi uyg&#8217;otishdir. Askiyaning payrov, qofiya, radif, tutal, o&#8217;xshatdim, bo&#8217;lasizmi, bahri bayt, safsata, &#8220;Gulmisiz, jambilmisiz, rayhonmisiz&#8221;, shirinkorlik, afsona, rabbiya, laqab kabi turlari bor. Askiya o&#8217;zbek xalqi orasida ko&#8217;p asrlardan beri mavjud bo&#8217;lib, uning dastlabki shakli urug&#8217;chilik davrida paydo bo&#8217;lgan. Alohida janr sifatida, asosan, 15 &#8211; asrdan shakllangan. Bu davrda Mir Sarbirahcha, Mavlono Burhonilang, Said G&#8217;iyosiddin sharfa, Mavlono Xalil Sahof, Muhammad Badaxshiy kabi mashhur askiyachilar yashagan. Bular orasida eng iste&#8217;dodlisi va atoqlisi Mavlono Abdulvose&#8217;munshiy bo&#8217;lgan. 18 \u2014 19 asrlarda Askiya, ayniqsa, Farg&#8217;ona vodiysi va Toshkentda rivojlangan. Bachqir qishlog&#8217;i (Farg&#8217;ona vodiysi) da Dexlon yuzboshi Shernazarov (1860\u2014 1942) va Zangiota qishlog&#8217;i (Toshkent)da Saidahmad askiyachi (1880\u2014 1940) kabi mashhur askiyachilar o&#8217;tgan. Ularning an&#8217;analarini 20 &#8211; asrning 40 \u2014 60 &#8211; yillarida Erka qori Karimov, Mamayusuf Tillaboyev, Yusufjon Shakarjonov, Rasul qori Mamadaliyev, aka Buxor Zokirov va boshqa davom ettirdilar. Keyingi yillar Tursunbuva (Ijroqo&#8217;mbuva) Aminov, Mamaroziq Ishoqov, Rahmatqul va Abdullajon Yasharovlar, Abdulhay Maxsum Qozoqov, Mamajon Madaminov, Toshkentda aka-uka Shojalilovlar Askiya rivojiga katta hissa qo&#8217;shdilar. 50 &#8211; yillardan Askiya kontsert dasturlariga ham kiritildi. Lutfixonim Sarimsoqova, Jo&#8217;raxon Sultonov, Ma&#8217;murjon Uzoqov, Muhammadjon Mirzayev, G&#8217;anijon Toshmatov, Gavhar Rahimova, Soyib Xo&#8217;jayev kabi san&#8217;atkorlar Askiyani teatr sahnasiga olib chiqib, tomoshabinlarga manzur qilganlar. Hozir ham bayram, sayillar va to&#8217;y marosimlarida Askiya musobaqalari, kechalari va hokazolar o&#8217;tkazib turiladi, askiyachilarning respublika ko&#8217;riklari uyushtiriladi. 1960 &#8211; yillarda ToshDU va San&#8217;atshunoslik instituti folklor ekspeditsiyalari ko&#8217;plab Askiya aytishuvlarini yozib oldi. Askiya payrovlari yozilgan plastinkalar chiqarildi. &#8220;Askiya&#8221; hujjatli filmi (rejissyor M. Qayumov) yaratildi. Askiya og&#8217;zaki va yozma adabiyotda ham uchraydi: &#8220;Alpomish&#8221;, &#8220;Kuntug&#8217;mush&#8221; dostonlarida Askiyaga xos qochirimlar, so&#8217;z o&#8217;yinlariga boy parchalar bor. Navoiyning &#8220;Majolis un-nafois&#8221;, K. Yashinning &#8220;Tor-mor&#8221; dramasi va boshqa asarlarda Askiya vositasida yaratilgan maroqli epizodlar, tili Askiya yordamida individuallashtirilgan personajlar mavjud.
