O&#8217;ta kuchli magnit maydonlar, past temperaturalar fizikasi va texnikasi asoschilaridan biri. 1921 yil Buyuk Britaniyaga ilmiy xizmat safariga yuborilgan. U yerda E.Rezerford rahbarligida ishlagan (1921-24). Kavendish laboratoriya direktori o&#8217;rinbosari (1924\u2014 32). Kembrijdagi monda laboratoriya direktori (1930-34). Kapisa 1934 yil Moskvada Fizika muammolari institutini (hozirda Kapisa nomidagi) tashkil qilib, 1935-46 yillar va 1955 yildan direktori. Kapisa o&#8217;ta kuchli magnit maydonini hosil qilish usulini yaratgan, spektr chiziqlarining kuchli maydon ta&#8217;sirida ajralishini, metallarning elektr qarshiligi kuchli magnit maydon ta&#8217;sirida chiziqli o&#8217;zgarishini aniqlagan. Kapisa o&#8217;z tajribalarida g=2,19 K dan past temperaturalarda suyuq geliyning qovushoqligi juda kamayib ketishi (geliy-P ning o&#8217;ta oquvchanligi) ni kashf etgan va uning fizik xususiyatlarini batafsil o&#8217;rgangan. Bunday holdagi geliy 2 xil komponent \u2014 o&#8217;ta oquvchan va normal hollarda bo&#8217;ladi.
