Dastlabki musiqa saboqlarini onasidan olgan, keyinchalik tillaboy hofizdan sozandalik hamda maqom ijrochilik sirlarini o&#8217;rgangan. 1862 yildan Buxoro amirlari (Muzaffarxon, Abdulahadxon, Olimxon) saroylarida xonanda va sozanda bo&#8217;lib xizmat qilgan. 1920-27 yillar Buxorodagi Sharq musiqa maktabida, 1928 yili Samarkand musiqa va xoreofafiya institutida o&#8217;zbek va tojik xalqlari mumtoz musika merosidan dars bergan. Shashmaqom yo&#8217;llarini mukammal biluvchi maqomdon ustoz, murakkab usullar ustasi sifatida tan olingan. Xususan mushkilot qismlarini tartibga solgan, ayrim makom sho&#8217;balarini kengaytirgan, Segoh maqomiga savtlar bastalagan (Savti jaloliy). Uning ijro uslubi maqom yo&#8217;llari usulining ravonligi, talaffuzining burroligi va ovozining katta ta&#8217;sir kuchiga ega ekanligi bilan ajralib turadi. 1923 yil Ota Jalol ijrosida V. Uspenskiy Buxoro Shashmaqomining ashula va cholg&#8217;u yo&#8217;llarini tarixda ilk bor notaga yozib olib, 1924 yilda nashr ettirgan. Domla Halim Ibodov, Hoji Abdulaziz, Levina Hofiz Boboxonov, B.
