Qiziqchilik teatri, asosan, Qo&#8217;qon xonligi hududida (ayniqsa, Farg&#8217;ona vodiysi va Toshkentda) rasm bo&#8217;lgan, ijrochisi qiziqchi (qiziq), to&#8217;da boshlig&#8217;i va ish yurituvchisi korfarmon deb atalgan. Uning repertuarini tanqid va muqallid janrlaridagi hajviy va yumoristik komediyalar, kulki-hikoya tashkil etgan. Qiziqchilik og&#8217;zaki dramaturgiyaga asoslangan; bunda ko&#8217;rsatiladigan tomoshalarning Fabulasi, syujeti, ayrim barqaror savol-javoblari ma&#8217;lum bo&#8217;lib, qiziqchilari tomonidan oldindan o&#8217;zlashtirilgan va shu asosda ijod va ijro qilingan. Qiziqchilar o&#8217;z ijodlarida ko&#8217;proq so&#8217;z san&#8217;atiga tayangan, xalq poetik ijodi, til boyligi, askiyachi, mumtoz adabiyot namunalaridan ustalik bilan foydalanganlar; muayyan rolda o&#8217;ynaganda xarakterga yarasha liboslarda chiqsada, odatda, qizil, sariq yoki jigarrang matodan tikilgan yoki quroq kamzul kiygan. 19-asrda qiziqchilarning truppalari (masalan, Bidiyorshum, Zokir Eshon boshchiligidagi to&#8217;dalar) faoliyat ko&#8217;rsatgan. Zokirjon qiziq to&#8217;dasiga 20 dan ziyod qiziqchi uyushgan bo&#8217;lib, yuzga yaqin tanqid, muqallid, kulki-hikoyalar va latifalar namoyish etishgan. 20-asrning 1-yarmida Yusufjon qiziq Shakarjonov boshliq 50 ga yaqin qiziqchi Qiziqchilik merosini saqlab, yangi sharoitlarda baholiqudrat ijod qilib, o&#8217;z bilim va tajribalarini yosh ijrochilarga singdirib keldilar. 20-asrning 2-yarmida qiziqchilarning yangi avlodi maydonga keldi. Ular an&#8217;anaviy teatr merosi, ijro madaniyatidan ta&#8217;sirlangan bo&#8217;lsalarda, Qiziqchilikni milliy an&#8217;analarga tayangan va jahon kulgi ustalari ijodidan ta&#8217;sirlangan holda o&#8217;z dasturlarini o&#8217;zlari to&#8217;qib, o&#8217;zlari ijro etadilar. Bu tarixiy jarayon Zaynobiddin Yusupov, Muhiddin qiziq Darveshov, Jo&#8217;raxon Po&#8217;latov kabi qiziqchilar faoliyatidan boshlangan. Mustaqillik davrida Mirzobek Xolmetov, Obid Asomov va ular tuzgan Qiziqchilik teatri Shuhrat qozondi.
