Nuklein kislotalar tarkibiga qanday uglevod \u2014 dezoksiri-boza yoki riboza kirishiga qarab dezoksiribo-nuklein kislota (DNK) va ribonuklein kislota (RNK)larga bo&#8217;linadi. Nukleotidlarning Nuklein kislotalardagi ketma-ketligi ularning birlamchi strukturasini belgilaydi. Nuklein kislotalar barcha tirik organizmlarning hujayralarida mavjud bo&#8217;lib, irsiy (genetik) informatsiyani saqlash va nasldan-naslga o&#8217;tkazishdek eng muhim funktsiyani baja-radi, hujayra oqsillarining bu in-formasiyani voqe qiluvchi sintezi jarayoniga ta&#8217;sir ko&#8217;rsatadi.
