Asar tarixiy voqealar bayonidan iborat bo&#8217;lib, unda tazkiraga xos xususiyatlar mujassam. &#8220;Mazhar ul-musannifin&#8221;da Buxoro amirligi hududlarida kechgan tarixiy voqealarning bayoni bilan birga buxorolik, samarqandlik, qarshilik shoir, olim, adiblar haqida ham so&#8217;zlanib, ularning kasb-kori, shaxsiyati, badiiy ijod sohasidagi iqtidori haqida qaydlar keltiriladi. Undagi ma&#8217;lumotlar 18-asr adabiy muhitini chuqurroq o&#8217;rganishga yordam beradi. Muallif, ayniqsa, kosib-hunarmandlar tabaqasiga mansub \u2014 po&#8217;stindo&#8217;z, kordgar, qog&#8217;ozfurush, tirgar (o&#8217;q yasovchi) shoirlar haqida so&#8217;z yuritadi, ularning she&#8217;rlar ijod qilishdagi qobiliyatlarini ham munosib baholaydi.
