Proton kabi Neytron ham nuklon deb yuritiladi. Barionlar guruhiga kiradi. Neytronni J. Chedvik kashf etgan (1932). Erkin holda Neytron uzoq vaqt yashay olmaydi: o&#8217;rtacha yashash davri t= 16 minut. Neytronning yarim parchalanish davri 11,7 minut, shu vaqt davomida u proton, elektron va antineytrinoga aylanadi. 1956 yilda Neytronning antizarrasi \u2014 antineytron topildi. Uning massasi Neytron massasiga teng, magnit momenti esa qarama-qarshi ishorali, ya&#8217;ni musbat. Antineytron radioaktiv bo&#8217;lib, u antiproton, pozitron va neytrinoga parchalanadi. Neytron xususiyatlaridan tibbiyotda (masalan, neytronoterapiya), geologiyada (neytron karotaj va boshqalar) keng foydalaniladi.
