Ayni vaqtda Muqimiy va Hamza nomidagi teatrlarda ham rollar o&#8217;ynagan. Andijon teatrida: Ferdinand (&#8220;makr va muhabbat&#8221;), shahar qokimi (&#8220;Revizor&#8221;), Kalaf (&#8220;Malikai Turandot&#8221;); Muqimiy teatrida: Hoji (&#8220;Nurxon&#8221;), Qorabotir (&#8220;Tohir va Zuhra&#8221;); Hamza teatrida: Husayn Boyqaro (&#8220;Alisher Navoiy&#8221;) kabi obrazlar yaratdi. Birinchi o&#8217;zbek ovozli filmi &#8220;qasam&#8221;da Ismatov bosh rol \u2014 Azimni o&#8217;ynagan. Keyinchalik ekranda yaratgan Umar (&#8220;Azamat&#8221;), Boboxon (&#8220;Tohir va Zuxra&#8221;), Jabbor ota (&#8220;Farg&#8217;ona qizi&#8221;), Husayn Boyqaro (&#8220;Alisher Navoiy&#8221;), bobo mehnat (&#8220;paxtaoy&#8221;) kabi obrazlari ham o&#8217;zbek kinosining zarvaraqlaridan o&#8217;rin oldi. Ayniqsa, Husayn Boyqaroning fojiaviy qayoti va taqdiri, ichki ziddiyatlarini tomoshabinga nihoyatda chuqur va ta&#8217;sirchan yetkaza olgan.
