Magnit qutbi yaqiniga joylashtirilgan har qanday paramagnit jism shu qutbga tortiladi. Tashqi mag- nit maydoni bo&#8217;lmagan (N=0) da paramag- netiklar magnitlanmaydi. &#8220;P.&#8221;terminini fanga M. Faradey kiritgan (1845). U ferromagnitdan bosh- ka barcha moddalarni magnit xossalari bo&#8217;yicha diamagnit va paramag-nit mod- tsalarga ajratgan. P. zarralari (atom, molekula, ion, atom yadrosi) xususiy magnit momentiga ega bo&#8217;lgan jismlar uchungina xos bo&#8217;lib, bu momentlar tashqi maydon bo&#8217;lmaganda tartibsiz, ya&#8217;ni j=0 bo&#8217;ladi.
