O&#8217;zbek, tojik, uyg&#8217;ur va b. xalqlarda keng tarqalgan professional sozlardan. Aso- siy tanasi 400-550 mm uzunlikdagi me- Vali daraxt (o&#8217;rik, tut, yong&#8217;oq) yog&#8217;ochidan, ichki tomoni tsilindr, ba&#8217;zida konus shaklida, karnaychasi kengaytirilgan holda yasaladi. Barmoq bilan bosiladi- gan 8 ta teshigi bor: 7 tasi yuza (ustki), 1 tasi orka (pastki) tomonida joylashgan. Milga esa ijrochi labi- ga tiralib, uning nafasini tashqariga chiqishidan muhofazalab turadigan el- Lips shaklidagi (hayvon shoxi, suyak, sadaf yoki metalldan ishlangan) halqa \u2014 sadaf o&#8217;rnatiladi. Surnay diapazoni bir yarim \u2014 ikki oktavani tashkil eta- Di (cisd dan h3c3 gacha va undan yuqori). S.ning tovushi jarangdor, kuchli va juda o&#8217;tkir. Farg&#8217;ona, Andijon, Toshkentda S.ning menzurasi (ichki teshigi Diame- tri) kengroq bo&#8217;lganligi sababli tovushi mayinroq va nolali, Xorazm Si tovushi keskin va chiyildoq. S.da tovush hosil qilish murakkab bo&#8217;lib, sozandaning uz- luksiz nafas olish jarayoniga asosla- nadi. Mazkur ijro turi O&#8217;zbekistonda &#8220;qaytarma nafas&#8221; (Xorazmda &#8220;dam ay- lantirish&#8221;) deyiladi. Bunda ijrochi lunjini shishirgan holda zaxira havoni og&#8217;zida saqlaydi va burundan nafas ola- yotgan paytida zaxiradagi xavoni chakka mushaklari yordamida surnay naychasiga yo&#8217;llaydi. Natijada S.ga havo yuborili- shida tovush uzilishiga yo&#8217;l qo&#8217;yilmaydi. O&#8217;zbekistonda S. ijrochiligida, aso- san, 2 (Farg&#8217;ona \u2014 Toshkent va Xorazm) yo&#8217;nalishi mashhur bo&#8217;lib, bir necha mahalliy markazlar mavjud bo&#8217;lgan; An- Dijon (Buloqboshi)dan Hojimat mehtar, Rustam mehtar Yusufalizoda, Ashurali mehtar, o. Rustamov va b., Farg&#8217;onadan Otajon surnaychi, Qo&#8217;qondan Hamroqul surnaychi, Ahmadjon qo&#8217;shnay Umrzoqov va b., Toshkentdan Ubaydullaevlar, Mir- zaevlar, Sobirovlar sulolalari va b., Xivadan sariq mehtar, Bobojon sur- naychi, Xudoybergan Qurbon, keying paytda y. Tojiev, M. Matyoqubov va b. tanilgan. S. karnay, nog&#8217;ora yoki doira jo&#8217;rligida ommaviylashgan maxsus an- samblni tashkil qilib, milliy an&#8217;ana- viy tomoshalarda, (&#8220;surnay yoryori&#8221;), dor- boz, qo&#8217;g&#8217;irchoqboz o&#8217;yinlarida (&#8220;Duchava&#8221;, &#8220;Dor o&#8217;yin&#8221;, &#8220;Ufarlar&#8221;, Xorazmda &#8220;qum pishig&#8217;i&#8221;, &#8220;To&#8217;rg&#8217;ay&#8221;, &#8220;zuvoniy&#8221;, &#8220;Rotol- lo&#8221; va b.), turli marosim, yig&#8217;in va say- illarda, raqslarda (&#8220;Shodiyona&#8221;, &#8220;katta o&#8217;yin&#8221;, &#8220;Dilxiroj&#8221;, &#8220;Tanavor&#8221;, &#8220;muno- jot&#8221;, Xorazmda &#8220;Orazibon&#8221;, &#8220;Norimno- Rim&#8221;, &#8220;Elpasalandi&#8221; va, ayniqsa, &#8220;sur- nay lazgisi&#8221;) keng qo&#8217;llaniladi. S. yakka- Navoz cholg&#8217;u sifatida ham mashhur. Ijro imkoniyatlarining boyligi va o&#8217;ziga xos xususiyatlarga egaligi tufayli unda cha- linadigan kuylar alohida ajralib tura- Di. Shashmakrmdagi Buzruk, Navo, Dugoh, Segoh, Iroq maqomlari sho&#8221;balari aso- sida yaratilgan surnay yo&#8217;llari &#8220;sunray Buzrugi&#8221;, &#8220;Surnay Navosi&#8221;, &#8220;Surnay Orazi&#8221;, &#8220;surnay Dugohi&#8221; (savt va Ufari bilan) g&#8217;oyat sevimlidir. &#8220;Mushkiloti Segoh va Ufari&#8221;, &#8220;surnay irog&#8217;i&#8221; kabi kuylarning ko&#8217;pchiligi yirik turkumli asarlardir. Ayniqsa, Navo maqomining S yo&#8217;llari keng tarqalgan bo&#8217;lib, aso- san, nikoh to&#8217;ylarida ijro etiladi. Xorazmda S. uchun maxsus S maqomlari mavjud bo&#8217;lib, ular tanbur chizig&#8217;iaa o&#8217;z aksini topgan (&#8220;Muxammasi rost&#8221;, Navo maqomidan &#8220;peshrav zanjiri&#8221;, &#8220;Ufari Navo&#8221; va b.), lily erda, shuningdek, maqom yo&#8217;llari negizida yaratilgan mumtoz kuy- lari ham mashhur (&#8220;Nadramaddin&#8221;, &#8220;Bi- rollayim&#8221; va b.). S. ga yaqin sozlar Kavkaz (Ozarbayjon, arman va b.) xalqlari va turklarda zurna, Xitoyda Sona, Hindistonda shexnay deb ataladi.
