Ovkat xili, organizmning fiziologik holati, kishi yoshiga qarab S. sifati va mikdori o&#8217;zgaradi. S. og&#8217;iz bo&#8217;shlig&#8217;iga tushgan bakteriyalarni nobud qilish xususiyatiga ham ega. Hayvonlar (mas, ilonlar) so&#8217;lagida zaharli moddalar bo&#8217;lib, ular himoya va hujum qilish vositasi sifatida ish- latiladi. To&#8217;garak chuvalchanglar, ba&#8217;zi qushlar so&#8217;lagidagi shilliq moddalar- dan in qurishda yopishtirish uchun foy- dalaniladi.
