Elek- tromagnit va elektrostatik birliklar nisbatini anikdab, yorug&#8217;lik tezligiga yaqin qiymatni hosil qildi (1876). Tash- ki fotoeffekt hodisasi ustida kuzatish- lar olib borib (1889-99), fototok kuchi- ning yorug&#8217;lik intensivligiga bog&#8217;liklik qonuni (Stoletov qonuni)ni kashf etdi. S. fotoeffektni o&#8217;rganish bo&#8217;yicha olib borgan tajribalarda qo&#8217;llagan elektr sxema zamonaviy fotoelement timso- li bo&#8217;lib qoldi. Fotoeffekt hodisasi ustida olib borgan tekshirishlari uni jahonga tanitdi. S. gaz razryadi nazari- yasiga katta hissa qo&#8217;shdi, moddalarning kritik xrlatini va b.ni o&#8217;rgandi.
