Nodir er element- lar jumlasiga kiradi. S.ni 1879 y.da shved olimi L.Nilson Skandinaviyada (lot. scandia, elementning nomi ham shun- dan) gadolinit mineralidan olgan. Er po&#8217;stining massa jihatdan 610&#8243;4% ini tashkil qiladi. S.ning asosiy minerallari tort- veytit Sc2SiO7 vasterrettit \u2014 Sc(PO4)2H2O nihoyatda kam uchraydi. Ulardan S. olinmaydi. Xlorid va sulfat kislota erit- malarida yaxshi eriydi, o&#8217;z birikmala- rida, asosan, 3 valentli, ammo alohida sharoitlarda S.ning 2 valentli birik- malarini ham olish mumkin. S. 450\u00b0 da vodorod b-n gidrid (ScH2), 400-600\u00b0 da galogen l ar b-n galogenidlar (Mae., ScCl3) hosil qiladi. Azot b-n 600\u00b0 dan yuqori trada reaktsiyaga kirishadi. 800\u00b0 da portlash natijasida S. nitrid ScN vujudga keladi. Oltingugurt, selen va tellur b-n faqat yuqori trada reaktsiyaga kirishadi. S. tarqoq xrlda nodirer mi- nerallaridan berill, volframitda va b. minerallarda ham uchraydi. Shuningu- chun S. volfram, qalay, uran va cho&#8217;yan i.ch. korxonalarining chiqindilarini qayta ishlash yo&#8217;li b-n olinadi. Sof S. meta- li olish uchun ScCl3 yoki ScF, ni kaltsiy b-n qaytariladi; bu jarayon natijasi- da hosil bo&#8217;lgan mahsulot 1600\u2014 1700\u00b0 da vakuumda haydaladi. S.li ferritlar EHM uchun xotira elementlar tayyorlash- da ishlatiladi.
