Yapon she&#8217;riyatiga xos renga hajviy janri- da yozilgan she&#8217;riy to&#8217;plamlari e&#8217;lon qilingan. &#8220;Yolg&#8217;iz erkakning ishqiy sar- guzashtlari&#8221; (1682) kitobi mashhur. &#8220;Yolg&#8217;iz ayolning ishqiy sarguzashtlari&#8221; (1686) nomli roman ham I. kalamiga mansub. Bundan tashqari, &#8220;ishqqa mub- talo bo&#8217;lgan besh ayol&#8221; (1686) qis-Salar to&#8217;plami, &#8220;Saykakuning barcha viloyat- lardan to&#8217;plagan hikoyalari&#8221; (1685) va b. kitoblarida ishq-muhabbat mav-zusi qalamga olingan. I. umrining oxir- larida shaharliklarni odob-axloqqa chorlovchi, aslzodalar hayotiga taqlid qilmaslikni targ&#8217;ib etuvchi nasihat tarzida asarlar yaratgan (&#8220;Ey-taygura&#8221;, 1688 va b.). I. yapon yozuvchilari orasida birinchilardan bo&#8217;lib, zamonaviy shahar hayotini haqqoniy tasvirlab bergan. U uchinchi tabaqaga mansub aholining haqhuquklarini himoya qiladi, tenglik g&#8217;oyasini ulug&#8217;laydi. I.ni yaponlarning Bokachchosi deb ataydilar.
