Bu hodisa vakuumda toza metallar (W, mo, ta) dan 2000-2500 K trada va murakkab yarimutkazgichli katodlardan 1000 K trada kuzatiladi. Elektronlar jism sirti (emitter) dan tashqariga chiqishi uchun jism chegarasidagi potentsial to&#8217;siqni engishi zarur; past tralarda bu to&#8217;siqni enga olmaydi.
