Dastlab Samarkandda ochilgan (1938); 1940 y. Toshkentga ko&#8217;chib, 1948 y.gacha faoliyat ko&#8217;rsatgan. 1973 yil qayta tashkil etilib, A. Ginzburg sahnalashtirgan &#8220;quvnoq urush&#8221; (I. Shtraus) spektakli bilan ochilgan. Dastlab teatrda N. Pasikova bosh baletmeyster, V. Spektr bosh dirijyor bo&#8217;lib ishlagan. T.o.t. repertuaridan dastlab &#8220;Chanita bo&#8217;sasi&#8221;, &#8220;Tbilisi osmoni ostida&#8221;, &#8220;Monmartr binafshasi&#8221;, &#8220;Silva&#8221;, &#8220;Tsirk malikasi&#8221;, &#8220;go&#8217;zallik tanlovi&#8221;, &#8220;Donna Lyusiya&#8221; kabi zamonaviy va mumtoz operettalar o&#8217;rin olgan. 80-y.lar teatrning ijodiy yuksalish davri bo&#8217;ldi. Teatrni Rossiyada xizmat ko&#8217;rsatgan san&#8217;at arbobi K. Vasilev (bosh rejissyor), B. Rasulov (bosh dirijyor)lar boshqargan, artistlar L. Bessarabova, Yu. Letov, I. Shalomaev va b. faoliyat ko&#8217;rsatgan. Ular mumtoz (&#8220;Marisa&#8221;, &#8220;Mister iks&#8221;, &#8220;lo&#8217;li Premer&#8221;, &#8220;Bayadera&#8221;, &#8220;Ko&#8217;rshapalak&#8221;, &#8220;lo&#8217;li baron&#8221;, &#8220;Vals qiroli&#8221;, &#8220;quvnoq beva&#8221;, &#8220;Fraskita&#8221; va b.) hamda zamonaviy (&#8220;Malinovkada to&#8217;y&#8221;, &#8220;ayollar isyoni&#8221;, &#8220;Shirin meva&#8221;, &#8220;Sevastopol valsi&#8221;, &#8220;Gusar uylanishi&#8221; va b.) operettalar bilan teatr repertuarini boyitishgan. 1981 y.da teatrda birinchi o&#8217;zbek operettasi (&#8220;quvnoq gunohkor&#8221;, K. Vasilev, E. Solihov) sahnalashtiriddi. 1990-y.larda T.o.t. jamoasiga yosh iste&#8217;dodli aktyor va rej.lar qo&#8217;shildi (rej.lar M. Xachaturov, A.Kudryavtsev, artistlar I. Buxaidze, N. Lapkova, K. Mitrofanov, B. Miskin, K. Izmaylov, S. Ortiqov va b.). O&#8217;zbek kompozitorlarining teatr bilan ijodiy hamkorligi kuchaydi (A. Ergashevning &#8220;Nakalok,&#8221;, E. Solihovning &#8220;tentak qiz&#8221; myuzikli, E. Qalandarovning &#8220;Temir xotin&#8221;, A. Ikromovning &#8220;bevalar ovunchog&#8217;i&#8221; va b.). Bu davrda &#8220;mening sohibjamol Malikam&#8221; (F. Lou asari, rej. A. Kaziner), &#8220;gollandiyalik qiz&#8221; (I. Kalman, K. Vasilev), &#8220;Figaroning uylanishi&#8221; (Bomarshe asari asosida, V. Mosart va J. Rossini musikasi, rej. V. Volodchenko) kabi spektakllar sahnalashtirildi. &#8220;Go&#8217;zal Elena&#8221;, B. Zokirov xotirasiga bag&#8217;ishlangan &#8220;Arabcha Tango&#8221; (rej. M. Xachaturov), &#8220;Xonuma&#8221;, &#8220;Kunlardan bir kun NyuYorkda&#8221; (I. Berlin) singari spektakllar so&#8217;nggi yillar mahsulidir. Hozirda teatrning bosh dirijyori \u2014 B. Rasulov, bosh baletmeyster \u2014 O&#8217;zbekistonda xizmat kursat-gan artist F. Isaeva, bosh rassom \u2014 A. Batikov. O&#8217;zbekistonda xizmat kursatgan artistlar D. Minyaeva, 3. Solovey, F. Maksudov va b. teatrning etakchi aktyorlaridir.
