T.r. mineral tarkibi, temir mikdori, foydali va zararli aralashmalari, hosil bo&#8217;lish sharoitlari va sanoatdagi xossalari jihatidan xilmaxildir. Muhim rudali minerallari: magnetit, magnomagnetit, titanmagnetit, gematit, gidrogematit, gyotit, gidrogyotit, siderit, temirli xloritlar. Tarkibi, kelib chiqishi va sifati bo&#8217;yicha T.r. g&#8217;ar xil bo&#8217;lib, sanoatda foydalaniladigan turlarida temir mikdori 16% dan 72% gacha o&#8217;zgaradi va shunga qarab boy (G&#8217;e 50% dan ortiq), oddiy (G&#8217;e 25-50%) va kambag&#8217;al (G&#8217;e 25% dan kam) rudalar farq qilinadi. Odatda, T.r. tarkibida zararli qo&#8217;shimcha elementlar (oltingugurt, fosfor, mis, margimush, qo&#8217;rg&#8217;oshin, rux) uchrab, ularning mikdori 0,1\u20140,3 dan (S, P, Si) hamda 0,05\u20140,09% dan (Ag, Zn, Sn, Pb) oshea ruda sifatiga salbiy ta&#8217;sir ko&#8217;rsatadi. Temir rudasi tarkibida foydali elementlar (Ni, Co, Mp, Sg, Ti, Ni, V va b.) xam mavjud bo&#8217;lib, ular (Mn, Cr, Ni) miqdorining ma&#8217;lum darajaga ko&#8217;payishi po&#8217;lat sifatini oshirsa, Ti, V, Co kabilar esa, qo&#8217;shimcha foydali element sifatida ajratib olinishi mumkin. T.r. cho&#8217;yanni tabiiy ko&#8217;rinishda yoki boyitilgandan so&#8217;ng eritish uchun ishlatiladi. Tarkibida 50% dan kam G&#8217;e bo&#8217;lgan T.r., asosan, magnit separasiyasi yoki gravitasion boyitish metodi bilan (Fe 60% gacha) boyitiladi. T.r. konlari kelib chiqishi jihatidan 3 guruhga: magmatogen, ekzogen va metamorfogen konlarga bo&#8217;linadi: magmatogen (Uralda Kusinsk, Kachkanar skarnlari; JARda Bushveld konlari majmuasi; Qozog&#8217;istonda Sokolov, Sarbay konlari va b.), ekzogen (Qrimda Kerch; Qozogistonda Ayat; Uralda Alapaevsk konlari va b.) va metamorfogen (Rossiyada Krivoy Rog, Kursk magnit anomaliyasi; Avstraliyada Xamereli va b.). T.r., asosan, cho&#8217;yan, po&#8217;lat va turli ferrokrtishmalar olishda, qisman tabiiy bo&#8217;yoqlar sifatida hamda burg&#8217;ilash quduklarida burg&#8217;ilash suyuqligini og&#8217;irlashtiruvchi qo&#8217;shimcha sifatida ishlatiladi. Temir ruda konlarining eng yirik zaxiralari (80% dan ko&#8217;prog&#8217;i) Rossiya, Braziliya, Kanada, Avstraliya, AQSh, Hindiston, JAR, Shvesiya va Frantsiyada joylashgan.
