G. Ijtimoiy qarashlariga ko&#8217;ra konservator bo&#8217;lgan, hayotdagi hamma tartiblarning joy- joyida qolishini istagan, yangi ij- timoiy tamoyillarni yoqtirmagan, hatto frantsuz ma&#8217;rifatparvarlari- ning g&#8217;oyalarini ham qabul qilmagan. Shu b-n birga kiborlar tabaqasining nuqsonlarini ham tanqid qilgan. G. asar- lari xalq yumorlariga boy, xalq drama- lariga xos masxarabozlik xususiyatlari etakchilik qiladi (&#8220;ilon xotin&#8221;, 1762; &#8220;Zubayda&#8221;, 1763; &#8220;chin ma&#8217;shuqa&#8221;, 1771 va b.). &#8220;Baxtli gadolar&#8221; (1764) ertak-pe- sasidagi voqealar Samarqandda bo&#8217;lib o&#8217;tadi. Unda G.ning Odil shoh haqidagi g&#8217;oyalari aks etgan. &#8220;Malikai Turandot&#8221; (1762) da Sharq ayollarining ijtimoiy ahvoli tasvirlangan.
