Nu- rash natijasida nurash va sedimentasiya muhiti fizik-kimyoviy sharoitlarining o&#8217;zgarishiga bog&#8217;liq holda g.m. ichki tuzi- lishi va kimyoviy tarkibining bosqichma- bosqich o&#8217;zgarishi sodir bo&#8217;ladi. G. m. zarralarining o&#8217;lchami 0,01 mm dan osh- maydi. Kristall strukturasiga ko&#8217;ra g.m. qatlamli va soxta qatlamli silikatlarga kiradi. G. m. strukturasidagi kristall- kimyoviy farqlar ularning kimyoviy tarkibidagi farklariga muvofiq kela- Di. Shu xususiyatlariga ko&#8217;ra g. m. bir- biridan keskin farqlanadi. Mac, Mont- morillonitli minerallar juda yuqori o&#8217;zaro modda almashinuv va adsorbtsion xossalariga ega, kaolinitli mineral- larda esa bu xususiyatlar kamroq namoyon bo&#8217;lgan. Gidro-slyudalar guruhiga mansub G. m. qizdirilganda hajmi juda katta- lashadi.
