Temuriylardan Husayn Boyqaro davrida (15-asr) Hirotda 40 dan ortiq san&#8217;atkorlarni uyushtirgan kutubxona keyinchalik mutaxassislar tomonidan &#8220;Nigorxonai Bexzod&#8221; yoki &#8220;Bexzod akademiyasi&#8221; deb atalgan. Yevropada badiiy akademiya dastlab Italiyada antik san&#8217;at, Uyg&#8217;onish davri san&#8217;atkorlarining uslublarini o&#8217;rganish uchun to&#8217;plangan rassomlarning erkin uyushmasi tarzida maydonga kelgan (16 &#8211; asr). Birinchi Badiiy akademiyalar Parijda (Qirollik B.A., 1648), keyinchalik Vena (1692), Berlin (1694), London (1768) da va boshqalar. Yevropa davlatlari saroylari qoshida, Rossiyada 1757 yil tashkil etilgan.
