Surunkali esgan shamolni to&#8217;xtatish uchun Choymomoga murojaat qilish bilan bog\u2019liq turli xil ishonch e&#8217;tiqodlarni o&#8217;z ichiga olgan marosim Chimkent viloyatida yashovchi o&#8217;zbeklar tomonidan o&#8217;tkazib kelingan. Qadimda odamlar kuchli yel, quyun yoki dovul sifatida namoyon bo&#8217;ladigan hamda ekin-tikinlarni payhon qilib, daraxtlarning mevasini to&#8217;kib, katta ziyon yetkazadigan shamolni yovuz kuch alomati deb bilishgan. Bevaqt esgan shamolni to&#8217;xtatish va hosil nobudgarchiligining oldini olish maqsadida bu tabiiy hodisaga turli magik amallar bilan ta&#8217;sir kursatishga harakat qilishgan. Ana shu mifologik qarashlar asosida shamol homiysi sifatida tasavvur qilingan Choymomo obrazi hamda u bilan bog&#8217;liq shamol to\u2019xtatish marosimi yuzaga kelgan. Choymomo marosimining qadimgi ko\u2019rinishi ayollar tomonidan o&#8217;tkazilishi hamda ijro etiladigan &#8220;Choymomo&#8221;qo&#8217;shig&#8217;ining matnida epiklik va emotsionallik aks etib turishi bilan xarakterlansa, ma&#8217;lum o&#8217;zgarishlarga uchragan ko&#8217;rinishi shamol to\u2019xtatish amallarining faqat erkaklar tomonidan bajarilishi va &#8220;Chuychuy momo&#8221; qo&#8217;shig&#8217;i ijro etilishi bilan farqlanib turadi.
