Mahalliy maktabda, madrasada o&#8217;qigan. O&#8217;tgan asrning 20-yillari o&#8217;rtalarida shoir sifatida Shuhrat qozongan. Qoraqalpoq hajviyasini, xususan masal janrini rivojlantirishda Nurimbetovning xizmatlari katta. Bolalar uchun ham ko&#8217;plab she&#8217;rlar yaratgan. &#8220;Bizning Vatan&#8221; (1940), &#8220;Xalq yengilmaydi&#8221; (1942), &#8220;Olg&#8217;a, botirlar&#8221; (1944), &#8220;tulkicha&#8221; (1956), &#8220;Farhol&#8221; (1958, 1974), &#8220;Pillakor Janil&#8221; (1961), &#8220;yangi davr ohanglari&#8221; (1962), &#8220;og&#8217;a-inilar&#8221; (1968) kabi she&#8217;r va dostonlar to&#8217;plamlari nashr etilgan. Uning &#8220;Baxtiyor&#8221; (1950), &#8220;Dengizda&#8221; (1957-58), &#8220;Pillakor Janil&#8221; (1961), &#8220;Zarimbetning hayajoni&#8221; (1958) dostonlari ularda tilga olingan ijtimoiy masalalarning dolzarbligi bilan ajralib turadi. &#8220;Berdaq&#8221; (1950) va &#8220;og&#8217;a-inilar&#8221; (1968) dostonlari o&#8217;tmishni badiiy talqin qidishga bag\u2019ishlangan.
