Bunda xodim ish beruvchi tomonidan tanlab olinmaydi, balki kollegial organ (masalan, oliy o&#8217;quv yurtining ilmiy kengashi, ilmiy tadqiqot instituti ilmiy kengashi, teatrtomosha muassasalari badiiy kengashi)ning qarori asosida tanlab olinadi. Ushbu Kengashlarning Tanlovda g\u2019olib chiqqan shaxsni tegishli lavozimga saylash to&#8217;g&#8217;risidagi qarori ish beruvchi uchun majburiydir. Tanlov, asosan, vakant lavozimlarni: oliy o\u2019quv yurtlarida kafedra mudiri, professor o&#8217;qituvchi; ilmiy tadqiqot muassasalarida \u2014 laboratoriya, bo&#8217;lim, sektor mudiri, katta va kichik ilmiy xodim lavozimlarini; teatr, ansambl, filarmoniya va boshqa kontsert tashkilotlarida \u2014 artist, rejissyor, dirijyor, baletmeyster, xormeyster va rassom lavozimlarini egallash uchun o&#8217;tkaziladi. Odatda, oliy o&#8217;quv yurtlarining assistent, o&#8217;qituvchi lavozimlariga Tanlov e&#8217;lon qilinmaydi, bu vakant lavozimlarga aspirantura va magistraturani tamomlagan shaxslar qabul qilinadi. 2 yillik muddat o&#8217;tgach, bu lavozimlar Tanlov orqali egallanadi (O&#8217;zbekiston Respublikasi Oliy va o&#8217;rta maxsus ta&#8217;lim vazirligining 1998 yil 30 oktabrdagi buyrug&#8217;i bilan tasdiqlangan &#8220;Oliy o&#8217;quv yurtlariga pedagogik xodimlarni ishga qabul qilish tartibi haqidagi Nizom&#8221;).
