Aylanuvchi tishli g&#8217;ildirak yordamida yorug&#8217;lik tezligini o&#8217;lchash usuli (Fizo usuli)ni ishlab chiqqan (1849), yer sharoitida birinchi marta yorug&#8217;lik tezligini o&#8217;lchagan. Harakatdagi suvda yorug&#8217;lik tezligini o&#8217;lchagan (Fizo tajribasi, 1851). Fizo tajribasi yoruglikning to&#8217;lqin nazariyasini, tezliklarni qo&#8217;shishning relyativistik formulasini tasdiklashda muhim rol o&#8217;ynaydi. Dopler effektini to&#8217;g&#8217;ri talqin etgan (Dopler \u2014 Fizo effekti, 1848). Yorug&#8217;likning interferentsiyasini kuzatish usulini (1849) va qattiq jismlarning kengayish koeffisientini o&#8217;lchashning interferentsion usulini (1852) ishlab chiqqan.
