Faxriyaning dastlabki go&#8217;zal namunalarini Arab she&#8217;riyatida, xususan, AlMutanabbiy (10-asr) ijodida, o&#8217;zbek mumtoz she&#8217;riyatida esa 15-asr shoirlari ijodida uchratish mumkin. Faxriya kichik lirik she&#8217;r (masalan, g&#8217;azal) larda bir baytdan, katta xajmli asarlar (masalan, qasida, doston) da bir necha baytdan iborat bo&#8217;ladi. Ana shunday baytlar ishtirok etgan yoki butunlay shunday baytlardan iborat bo&#8217;lgan asarlar g&#8217;azali Faxriya, Qasidai Faxriya deb ham nomlanadi. Faxriyada shoir o&#8217;z ijodini boshqa bir shoir ijodiga, muhim bir voqea-hodisa yoki ob&#8217;yektga kamtarona, mubolag&#8217;ali yoki kinoyaviy tarzda taqqoslaydi, qiyoslaydi. Masalan: Ulug&#8217;bek xon bilur Lutfiy kalomin, Ki, rangin she&#8217;ri Salmondin qolishmas (Lutfiy).
