O&#8217;zbekistonda xizmat ko&#8217;rsatgan o&#8217;qituvchi (1926). Samarqand, Buxoro madrasalarida o&#8217;qigan. Arab, Fors, Ozarbayjon tillarini mukammal bilgan. Keyinroq rus tilini ham o&#8217;rgangan. 1901-03 yillarda Kavkaz, bir qator Arab mamlakatlari va Rossiyaga sayohat qilgan. Jiddada ma&#8217;lum muddat rus elchixonasida tarjimon bo&#8217;lgan. Samarqandga qaytgach, shahar yaqinidagi Halvoyi qishlog&#8217;ida yangi usuldagi maktab ochib, o&#8217;qituvchilik qilgan. L. Tolstoy hikoyalarini, Krilov masallarini, Gogolning &#8220;Shinel&#8221; povestini o&#8217;zbek va tojik tillariga tarjima qilgan (1908\u2014 10). Darslik yozib, tarjimalaridan namunalar kiritgan. Ajziy 80-yillardan she&#8217;r yoza boshlagan. &#8220;Ayn uladab&#8221; (&#8220;Odob chashmasi&#8221;, 1916), &#8220;Ganjinai hikmat&#8221; (&#8220;Hikmat xazinasi&#8221;, 1914) kabi-she&#8217;riy to&#8217;plamlari, &#8220;Mir&#8217;oti ibrat&#8221; (&#8220;Ibrat oynasi&#8221;, 1914), &#8220;Anjumani arvoh&#8221; (&#8220;Arvohlar yig&#8217;ini&#8221;, 1912) dostonlari nashr qilindi. &#8220;Mir&#8217;oti ibrat&#8221;da Turkistonning o&#8217;sha davrdagi fojiali ahvoli va undan qutulish choralari haqida bahs yuritgan. Ilmfan, davlat, til, qonun \u2014 bularsiz hech bir millatning istiqboli yo&#8217;q, bu to&#8217;rt narsani qo&#8217;lga kiritmagan millat halokatga mahkumdir, deydi. &#8220;Anjumani arvoh&#8221;da esa xonlikdagi turg&#8217;unlik tanqid qilingan. Samarqandda o&#8217;zbek va tojik tillaridagi &#8220;Mashrab&#8221;, &#8220;Mulla Mushfiqiy&#8221; kabi hajviy jurnallarni, &#8220;Zarafshon&#8221; gazetasini chiqarishda faol ishtirok etgan. &#8220;Mayna&#8221;, &#8220;Ginagina&#8221;, &#8220;Shashpar&#8221;, &#8220;Tir&#8221;, &#8220;Gumnom&#8221;, &#8220;Olmos&#8221; imzolari bilan hajviy asarlar yozgan. Ularda sho&#8217;ro tuzumida yuz berayotgan o&#8217;zgarishlarni xushlamaslik, kelajakdan xavotirlanish kayfiyatlari seziladi. 1903 yilda Halvoyi qishlog&#8217;ida shoirning o&#8217;zi qurdirgan maktab hali ham bor, hozir uning nomida.
