Azobenzol nitrobenzol yoki azoksibenzolni ishqoriy muhitda rux kukuni ishtirokida qaytarib olinadi. Azobenzol ishqoriy muhitda rux bilan qaytarilsa, gidrozobenzolga, sirka kislotali muhitda qaytarilsa, anilinga, xlorid kislota va qalay ta&#8217;sirida qaytarilsa, benzidinga aylanadi.
