Rangli metallar 4 guruhga bo`linadi: 1) og`ir metallar &#8211; mis, nikel, qo`rg`oshin, qalay, kobalt, mishyak, simob va b.; 2) yengil metallar &#8211; alyuminiy, magniy, titan, natriy, berilliy, kaliy va b.; 3) asl metallar &#8211; oltin, kumush, platina, osmiy va b.; 4) nodir metallar &#8211; volfram, molibden (tarqoq metallar &#8211; talliy, galliy, germaniy va boshqalar), siyrak yer elementlari (lantan), radioaktiv metallar (poloniy, radiy, aktiniy, toriy, uran va boshqalar). Rangli metall rudalari tarkibida odatda metall kam miqdorda bo`ladi (masalan, mis rudasi tarkibida 1 % mis bo`lsa, qazib olinadi); shuning uchun rudalar boyitiladi.
