Tabiiy Lyutesiy ikkita izotopdan tashkil topgan. 175Lu (97,40%) va 176Lu (2,60%); l76Lu radioaktiv (T|\/2=2,4-10-10y.). Birikmalarida 3 valentli, massasi jihatidan yer po&#8217;stidagi miqdori 8-10 &#8216;%, dengiz suvlarida 1,2- 10~6 mg\/l. It-tiriy minerallari tarkibida uchraydi. Asosiy sanoat minerallari \u2014 ksenotim, evksenit, bastnezit. Lyutesiy \u2014 kumush kabi oq, mexanik ishlovga oson beriladigan metall. Suyuqlanish temperaturasi =1660\u00b0, qaynash temperaturasi -3410\u00b0. Zichligi 9,85 g\/sm3.
