Badiiy ifodaning aniqligi, tasvir bajarilayotgan materialning yumshoqligi tufayli oq va qora rangning keskin kontrastligiga, chiziqlarning aniq va ifodaliligiga erishilishi, tezkor ishlanish imkoniyati, katta hajmdagi qog&#8217;ozlardan foydalanish mumkinligi, tirajining ko&#8217;pligi kabi badiiy xususiyatlari bilan bosma grafikada keng o&#8217;rin egalladi. Rangli bosmada ko&#8217;p qo&#8217;llaniladi. Ksilografiyaga uslub jihatdan yaqin bo&#8217;lsa ham mustaqil rivojlandi. 20-asr o&#8217;rtalarida bir necha Linogravyura maktablari shakllandi. Lotin Amerikasi (&#8220;Xalq grafikasi ustaxonasi&#8221;, Meksika; &#8220;gravyura do&#8217;stlari klubi&#8221;, Braziliya va boshqalar), AQSh, Frantsiya, Daniya, Rossiyada keng taraqqiy etdi. O&#8217;zbekistonda rassomlardan G. Chiganov, K. Basharov, A. Tsiglintsev, V. Parshin va boshqalar birinchilardan bo&#8217;lib Linogravyuraga murojaat qildilar.
