Juda xavfli, sal turtki, ishqalanish, alanga, qizigan jism va boshqalar ta&#8217;sirida portlaydi. 179\u2014 180\u00b0da o&#8217;z-o&#8217;zidan alangalanib portlaydi. Namlanganda issiqqa va mexanik ta&#8217;sirlarga sezgirligi pasayganligi uchun suv qatlami ostida saqlanadi. Nam holda Qaldiroq simob alyuminiy bilan shiddatli, mis bilan asta-sekin reaktsiyaga kirishadi. Shu sababli Qaldiroq simobning alyuminiy bilan tutashishiga yo&#8217;l qo&#8217;yilmaydi. Simob (P) nitratning nitrat kislotadagi eritmasiga etil spirt ta&#8217;sir ettirib olinadi. Portlovchi moddalarni inisirlovchi sifatida detonator kapsulalari va alangalanuvchi kapsulalarda ishlatiladi.
