Nukleazalar fosfodiesteraza bo&#8217;lib, ribonuklein kislotani parchalaydigan ribonukleaza (RNKaza), dezoksiribonuklein kislotani parchalaydigan dezoksiribonukleaza (DNKaza), ayrimlari har ikki nuklein kislotalar (NK)ga nisbatan faol bo&#8217;lgan (nomaxsus) Nukleazalar deb ataladi. Ekzonukleazalar nuklein kislota molekulasining bir uchini, endonukleazalar polinukleotid zanjirni oralaridan gidrolizlaydi. Ovqatdagi NKni hazm qilishda, organizm uchun yot bo&#8217;lgan NKni chiqarib yuborishda, hujayralarda NKning sintezlanishi va parchalanishini boshqarishda qatnashadi.
