Kant falsafasini tiklashga, uni qayta ishlashga urinadi. Neokantchilik vakillari Kantning &#171;narsa o&#8217;zida&#187; degan tushunchasini rad etib, bilishning aprior (tajribadan xoli) ekanligini isbotlamoqchi bo&#8217;lishgan. Ular dunyoni bilish faqat aniq fanlarning vazifasi, falsafaning vazifasi esa ilmiy bilishning uslubiy va mantiqiy asoslarini ishlab chiqishdan iborat deb hisoblaydi. Neokantchilar tushunchani voqelikdan ajratib qo&#8217;yadi va uni o&#8217;z-o&#8217;zidan rivojlanuvchi tafakkur mahsuli deb tushuntiradi. Neokantchilarning ijtimoiy-siyosiy qarashlari xilma-xil bo&#8217;lib, ular, asosan, islohotlar vasiyosiy yonbosishlarni targ&#8217;ib qiluvchi siyosiy guruhlar mavqeini ifodalar edi. Keyinchalik Neokantchilik fiziologik (G. Gelm-Gols, F.A.Lange), psixologik (L. Nelson), tanqidiy realizm (A. Ril), Marburg maktabi, Baden maktabi, fiktsionalizm (X. Fayxinger), frantsuz neokritisizmi (Sh. Renuve) kabi bir qancha yo&#8217;nalishlarni birlashtirdi.
