Atomli, domenli M. s. mavjud. Atomli M. s. kristallardagi atomlar (ionlar) magnit momentlarining o&#8217;zaro yo&#8217;nalishini ko&#8217;rsatadi. Bu ham yig&#8217;indi magnit momentining qiymatiga qarab, o&#8217;z navbatida yana ferromagnitli (yig&#8217;indi magnit moment noldan farkli) va anti-ferromagnitli (yig&#8217;indi magnit moment nolga teng) turlarga bo&#8217;linadi (rasmga q.).
