M. t., odatda, in- tegral ko&#8217;rinishda yoziladi, ammo dif- ferentsial tenglamalar ko&#8217;rinishida ham yozilishi mumkin. 19-a. 60-y.larida J. K. Maksvell elektr va magnit maydonlar haqidagi M. Faradey g&#8217;oyalariga asoslan- gan holda tajriba yo&#8217;li b-n aniqlangan qonunlarni umumlashtirib, ixtiyoriy za- ryadlar va toklar tizimi hosil qiluvchi elektromagnit maydonning tugallangan nazariyasini yaratdi. Maksvell nazariya- si klassik fizikaning rivojlanishiga qo&#8217;shilgan ulkan hissa bo&#8217;ldi. Mexanika- da Nyuton qonunlari qanday ahamiyatli bo&#8217;lsa, makroskopik elektrodinamika- da M. t. ham shunday ahamiyatlidir. M. t.ning birinchisi Faradeyning elektro- magnit induktsiya krnunining matematik ifodalanishidan iborat. M. t.ning ikkinchisi J. B. Bio, F. Sa-var, P. Laplasning tajribalarga tayanib yaratgan magnit maydonni tokli o&#8217;tkazgichlar yaratishi haqidagi qonunini umumlashtirish asosida olingan. Mas, ixtiyoriy berk kontur bo&#8217;yicha magnit maydon induktsiyasi vektorining tsir- kulyasiyasi shu kontur o&#8217;rab olgan yuza- dan o&#8217;tuvchi hamma toklarning algebraic yig&#8217;indisiga teng. Maksvell magnit maydonni faqat o&#8217;tkazgichdan o&#8217;tayotgan toklar hosil qilibgina qolmay, balki uni har qanday muhitda vujudga kelgan o&#8217;zgaruvchan elektr maydoni ham hosil qilishi haqidagi gipotezani ilgari suradi.
