Hirotdagi &#171;Ixlosiya&#187; madrasasida riyoziyot, falsafa, musika nazariyasi va badi&#8217; ilmidan tahsil olgan. Unga musiqadan Xoja Abdulloh Marvarid, badi&#8217; ilmidan Alisher Navoiy ustodlik qilishgan. Navoiyning buyurtmasi bilan fors tilida &#171;Qonun&#187; (zamonaviy adabiyotda &#171;Qonuni ilmi va amali musiqiy&#187; \u2014 &#171;Musiqaning ilmiy va amaliy krnunlari&#187;) asarini yozgan. Asar Navoiyga bag&#8217;ishlangan qasida va 24 bobdan (so&#8217;nggi ikki bobi saklanmagan) iborat. J. Sultonov tomonidan topilgan uning yagona nusxasi O&#8217;zbekiston Fanlar Akademiyasi Sharqshunoslik ilmiy tadqiqot institutida saqlanadi. Risola Zaynulobidin Husayniy yashagan davr musiqa san&#8217;atining nazariy va amaliy masalalarini yoritadi. Musiqa istilohoti, jumladan o&#8217;n ikki maqom, vvoza va sho\u2019ba tushunchalariga qator aniqliklar kiritgan. Oxirgi boblar cholg&#8217;ularning sozi va usul turkumlariga bag&#8217;ishlangan.
