Uran minerallaridan ajratib olingan K.ning izotop tarkibi bundan birmuncha farq qiladi, chunki 235U va 238U parchalan- ganda radioaktiv izotoplar, mas, 85kg (T, =10,6 y, r-nurlanuvchi) ham hosil bo&#8217;ladi. Oksidlanish darajasi +2, at. ra- diusi 0,198 nm, kovalent radiusi 0,109 nm. K. \u2014 bir atomli hidsiz va rangeiz gaz. Atmosferada hajmi jihatidan 1,14- 10~~4% K. bo&#8217;lib, uning atmosferada- gi zahirasi 5,3-1012 ga teng. Tarkibida uran bo&#8217;lgan mineral gazlarda 2,5\u2014 3,0% K. bor. Yadro reaktorlarining nurlangan yoqilg&#8217;ilarida 0,04% gacha K. bo&#8217;ladi. Koi- notda 6-107 atom ne ga 1 atom K. to&#8217;g&#8217;ri ke- ladi. K. ning kimyoviy birikmalaridan faqat Kripton diftorid KrF2 va uning hosilalari, mas, KrFT, SbF~, Kr,F,AuF&#187;, KrH+, Ta2 F~ olingan. K. havoni parcha- lashda oraliq mahsulot sifatida hosil bo&#8217;ladi. Cho&#8217;g&#8217;lanma lampalar, gazorazryad va rentgen trubkalarni to&#8217;ldirishda qo&#8217;llanadi.
