Umurtqasiz hayvonlarda K. gipoderma (bir qanat epiteliy)dan hosil bo&#8217;lib, asosan, ta- yanch va himoya funktsiyasini bajaradi. Bo&#8217;g&#8217;imoyoqlilar K.si qattiq bo&#8217;lib, ular- ning o&#8217;sishiga xalaqit beradi. Shuning uchun ular tullab (pust tashlab) o&#8217;sadi (q. Tullash). K. tarkibiga xitin, oqsil, lipid va mineral moddalar kiradi. XI- tin va oqsillar K. ning pishiqligini, lipidlar uning suv o&#8217;tkazmasligini ta&#8217;minlaydi. K. dastlab yassi chuval- changlarda paydo bo&#8217;lgan. Tangachalar, qalqonlar, tuklar, qillar K.dan vujudga keladi. Umurtqali hayvonlar va odamda K. ichki organlar (ichak, nafas va siy- Dik yo&#8217;llari)ning ichki yuzasini qoplab turadigan epiteliy hujayralari sirti- dagi mikrovorsinkalardan iborat; 2)1 o&#8217;simliklarda \u2014 er usti organlari (barg, poya, ayrim mevalar) sirtini qoplab tu- radigan yog modda (kutin)dan iborat. Epidermis hujayralarida sintezlangan kutin sirtga chiqib, K. hosil qiladi va qisman hujayra qobig&#8217;i tashqi devoriga ham shimiladi. K. va u shimilgan hujayra qobig&#8217;i kompleksi tsellyuloza, pektin, ku- tin, mum va b. moddalardan iborat bo&#8217;lib, ko&#8217;p qanat hosil qiladi.
