K.da ijtimoiy hayotdagi nuqsonlar, kishilarning ongi va xarakteridagi yaramas xususiyatlar kulgi vositasi b-n tanqid etiladi, jamiyat hayotidagi eski- rib qolgan hodisalarga zarba beriladi. Hayotning rivojlanish qonuni oldida umri tugagan narsalar, sarqitlar kul- gili ahvolga tushib qoladi. Bo&#8217;larni qalamga olish orqali K. yara-tiladi. K. Yunonistonda Xudo Dionis shara- figa o&#8217;tkazilgan xalq bayramlarida pay &#8212; do bo&#8217;lgan. Yorqin siyosiy K.lar yaratgan Aristofan (mil. AV. 5-4-a.lar) K.ning &#171;otasi&#187; hisoblanadi. Kds. Rimda (mil. AV. 3-2-a.lar) Plavt va Terentsiy atokli K.chilar bo&#8217;lishgan. Uyg&#8217;onish davri evro- Pa adabiyotida V.Shekspir va B.Jonson (Angliya), Lope de Vega (Ispaniya) K.lari katta o&#8217;rin tutadi. 17-18-a.larda K.da realistik mayllarning kuchayishida J.B.Moler va P.Bomarshe (Frantsiya), K.Goldoni (Italiya), G.Lessing (Ger- maniya), R.Sheridan (Angliya) ijodi qo&#8217;l keldi. K.ning 19-20-a.lardagi rivoji B.Shou, B.Brext, Sh.O&#8217;Keysi, B.Nushich, J.Anut, N.Gogol va b. ijodi b-n bog&#8217;liq. O&#8217;zbek adabiyotida Evropa adabiyoti andozasidagi K.lar 20-a.da paydo bo&#8217;ldi. Bu janr taraqqiyotiga -Hamza (&#171;maysa- raning ishi&#187;), Abdulla Qahhor (&#171;tobut- dan tovush&#187;), Sayd Ahmad (&#171;Kelinlar qo&#8217;zg&#8217;oloni&#187;), Erkin Voqidov (&#171;Oltin de- vor&#187;), Hamid G&#8217;ulom (&#171;Toshbolta oshiq&#187;), Bahrom Rahmonov (&#171;Surmaxon&#187;), Sharof Boshbekov (&#171;temir xotin&#187;) va b. munosib hissa qo&#8217;shdilar. K.ning har xil turlari bor. Voqealar chalkashligi tufayli tomoshabinda kulgi tug&#8217;diradigan (V. Shekspirning &#171;Xato- lar komediyasi&#187;), qahramonlar kulgili holatlarga tushgan (Hamza, &#171;Maysaraning ishi&#187;), kishilar xarakteridagi bema&#8217;ni xususiyatlar kulgili qilib ko&#8217;rsatilgan (Moler, &#171;Tartyuf&#187;; A.Qaxlor, &#171;Aya- jonlarim&#187;; E.Vohidov, &#171;Oltin devor&#187;) K.lar mavjud.
