O&#8217;zbekiston xalq shoiri (1965). O&#8217;zbekistonda xizmat ko&#8217;rsatgan san&#8217;at arbobi (1944). Dastlab eski maktab, so&#8217;ng &#171;usuli jadid&#187; MAK- tabini tugatgach, Qo&#8217;qondagi ped. Bilim yurti (1922-24), Toshkentdagi mahalliy kadrlarni tayyorlash kursi (1924-26) da o&#8217;qigan. 1926-48 y.larda &#171;yangi Farg&#8217;ona&#187;, &#171;yosh leninchi&#187; gaz.larida ada- biy xodim, &#171;Mushtum&#187; jur.da bo&#8217;lim mu- diri, Andijon viloyat teatri, O&#8217;zbek dav- lat filarmoniyasi va Muqimiy nomidagi teatrda adabiy emakdosh (1936). Ilk sherlar to&#8217;plami \u2014 &#171;Erk ilhomlari&#187; (1931). Shundan keyin uning &#171;Navbahor&#187; (1931), &#171;kuklam na&#8217;- rasi&#187;, &#171;zavq&#187; (1932), &#171;Gulshan&#187; (1939), &#171;Suz va soz&#187; (1943), &#171;davr qo&#8217;shiqlari&#187; (1949), &#171;hayot gulshani&#187; (1959), &#171;hayot qo&#8217;shiqlari&#187; (1962), &#171;Devon&#187; (1965; Hamza mukofoti, 1971) kabi she&#8217;riy to&#8217;plamlari nashr etilgan. S. A.ning she&#8217;riy ijodi lirika, xajviyot va do- stonlardan iborat. S.A. aruz vazniga karshi kurash va umumiy badiiy ijodni mafkuralashtirish jarayoni kechgan bir davrda o&#8217;zbek adabieti klassiklarining boy poetik an&#8217;analarini davom ettirib, mumtoz adabiyotimiz b-n zamonaviy ada- biyot o&#8217;rtasida o&#8217;ziga xos ko&#8217;prik vazifa- sini o&#8217;tagan. S.A. voqelikda ro&#8217;y bergan voqea va hodisalarni ifodalashda aruz vazni imkoniyatlaridan samarali foyda- langan, ayniqsa, g&#8217;azal janrida kishilar- ga zavqshavq bag&#8217;ishlaydigan, ulardagi ez- gulik va nafosat tuyg&#8217;ulariga ruhiy oziq beradigan ko&#8217;plab asarlar yozgan. Uning bastakorlar tomonidan kuyga solingan eng yaxshi gazallari o&#8217;zbek qo&#8217;shiqchilik san&#8217;atining ravnaqiga muhim hissa bo&#8217;lib qo&#8217;shiddi. S. A. ayni paytda hajviy she&#8217;rlar ham yozgan. Liroepik janrlarda ham samarali ijod qilgan (&#171;Manyovr&#187;, 1931; &#171;O&#8217;rtoq Yoqubova&#187;, 1934; &#171;katta Farg&#8217;ona kanali&#187; tona Pol- von o&#8217;g&#8217;li&#187;, 1940; &#171;gul va sanam&#187;, 1957; &#171;Quralay ko&#8217;z bir kelinchak&#187;, 1958; &#171;tun va tong&#187;, 1971, dostonlar). S.A.ning o&#8217;zbek adabieti taraqqiyotiga qo&#8217;shgan katta hissasi uning dramalari- dir. &#171;Muxbirga hujum&#187; dastlabki pe- sasi 1927 y. Qo&#8217;qon drama truppasi to- monidan sahnaga qo&#8217;yilgan. Shundan so&#8217;ng S.A. &#171;Bog&#8217;bon qiz&#187; (1926, Doston asosi- da), &#171;Bo&#8217;ston&#187; (1937) bir pardali pesasi hamda &#171;Tohir va Zuhra&#187; (1939) pesala- rini ezdi. 1940 y.da ilk bor sahna yuzini ko&#8217;rgan va hanuzga qadar o&#8217;zbek musiqiy teatrlari repertuarlarini bezab kela- yotgan &#171;Tohir va Zuhra&#187; asari S.A. ijo- dining gultojidir. S.A. dramasi b-n Tuxtatsin Jalilovning musiqasi o&#8217;zaro uyg&#8217;unlashgan holda sevgi va muhabbat haqidagi Sharq afsonasining &#171;Romeo va Juletta&#187;, &#171;Layli va Majnun&#187; singa- ri jahon adabiyotining mashhur ishqiy asarlari darajasiga yaqinlashishiga imkoniyat yaratdi. S.A.ning ushbu asari asosida &#171;Tohir va Zuxra&#187; kinofilmi (rejissyor N. G&#8217;aniev) va opera spektakli (kompozitorlar T. Jalilov va B. Brov- Tsin) ham yaratilgan. S.A. urush yilla- rida hamkorlikda &#171;Qo&#8217;chqor Turdiev&#187; (1941), &#171;Davron ota&#187; (1942), &#171;O&#8217;zbekiston qilichi&#187; (1943), urushdan keyingi yil- larda esa zamonaviy hamda tarixiyaf- sonaviy mavzularda &#171;Alpomish&#187;, &#171;gul va Navro&#8217;z&#187;, &#171;iste&#8217;dod&#187;, &#171;mening Jan- natim&#187;, &#171;Hijron va vijdon&#187; singari pesalarni ham yozdi. Bu asarlarning aksari poytaxt va viloyat teatrlarida sahnalashtirilgan. S.A.ning adabiy merosida nasriy asarlar ham salmokli o&#8217;rinni egallaydi. Uning 1931 y.da nashr etilgan &#171;Navbahor&#187; to&#8217;plamidan she&#8217;rlar b-n birga davrning dolzarb mavzularida yozilgan hikoyalar ham urin olgan. S.A. nasriy janrlarda- gi izlanishlarini davom ettirib, &#171;ul- Fat&#187; (1939), &#171;soyalar&#187; (1963) hikoyalar to&#8217;plamlarini e&#8217;lon qildi. Kichik Nasr janrlarida erishilgan tajriba yozuv- chining &#171;Mavlono Muqimiy&#187; romani (1965) ustida olib borgan ijodiy ishi- da, ayniqsa, qo&#8217;l keldi. S.A. Muqimiy va uning zamondoshlarini ko&#8217;rgan kishilar xotiralari asosida romanda shoir hayoti va u yashagan tarixiy davr manzaralari- ni haqqoniy aks ettirdi. Keyinchalik S.A. tarixiy o&#8217;tmish mavzuida yozilgan &#171;Besh sarguzasht&#187; qissasini (1971), Hamza, G&#8217;. G&#8217;ulom, A. Umariy, M. Uzoqov kabi adabiyot va san&#8217;at namoyandalariga bag&#8217;ishlangan xotiralarini yozdi. S.A. &#171;Tohir va Zuhra&#187;, &#171;Maysaraning ishi&#187; operalari librettosining ham muallif- laridan biri.
