S.k. hosil qilgan modda- larning molekulalari tayoqcha yoki cho&#8217;ziq plastinkasimon shaklda bo&#8217;ladi. Ter- motrop va liotrop xillarga bo&#8217;linadi. Termotrop S.k. \u2014 ma&#8217;lum tra oralig&#8217;ida mezomorf holatda, undan past trada qattiq kristall, yuqori trada esa oddiy suyuklik holatida bo&#8217;ladi. Mac, iazoksi- anizol 118,27\u00b0 da anizotrop bo&#8217;lib, suyuq kristallar hosil qiladi. 135,85\u00b0 da esa u izotroplikni namoyon qilib, oddiy suyuqlikka aylanadi. Ba&#8217;zi moddalar- ning maxsus erituvchilardagi eritmasi liotrop S.k. deyiladi. S.k. molekulalarining tartiblanish darajasiga ko&#8217;ra nematik (&#171;azoksioni- zol, sintetik polipeptid eritmalari) va smektik (sovunning suvdagi eritma- si) S.k. ga bo&#8217;linadi. Nematik va smektik S.k.ning tashki ko&#8217;rinishini polyariza- tsion mikroskop yordamida osongina AJ- ratish mumkin. Nematik S.k. ipsimon, smektik S.k. konussimon, tayoqchasimon va bosqichli tuzil gan. S.k.ning xolesterik (xolesterinning propil efiri) xili ham mavjud bo&#8217;lib, uning molekulalari birbiriga paral- Lel joylashgan uzunchoq plastinkasimon shaklda. Xolesterik S.k. organik suyuk- diklar va qattiq kristallarning op- tik faolligidan bir necha marta yuqori bo&#8217;lgan optik faollikkya ega. Ba&#8217;zi termotrop S.k. 2 mezomorf holatda bo&#8217;lishi mumkin (q. Polimor- fizm). Bunda strukturaviy o&#8217;tishlar quyidagicha: qattiq^smektik\u2014 jematik\u2014>amorfsuyuq kristall faza sxemasi bo&#8217;yicha boradi va 1 tartibli faza o&#8217;tish sodir bo&#8217;ladi.
