Vena klassik maktabining ilk opera islohotchisi sifatida &#171;Orfey va Evri- Dika&#187; (1762), &#171;Altsesta&#187; (1767), &#171;IFI- geniya Tavridada&#187; (1779) kabi 100 dan ortiq operalarini yaratdi. Bularning eng etuklari g&#8217;oyaviy va badiiy mazmundor, ifodaviy vositalari xilma-xil bo&#8217;lib, qahramonlarning kuchli his-tuyg&#8217;ulari, matonatli xulqiy fazilatlari b-n AJ- ralib turadi. G. ariya, ansambl va ba- let lavhalarini izchil musiqa rivojiga bo&#8217;ysundirdi, ularni yirik sahnalarga birlashtirib, operaning musiqiy- dramatik keskinligini kuchaytirdi, sa- Roy spektakllariga xos dabdabali yuzaki tomoshalarga barham berdi. G. frantsuz hajviy opera janrida ham ijod qilgan. &#171;Soxta cho&#8217;ri&#187; (1758), &#171;Aldangan qozi&#187; (1761), &#171;nogahon uchrashuv yoki &#171;Makka hojilari&#187; (1764) va b. asarlarida Sharq mavzularini ekzotik tarzda aks ettirgan.
