O&#8217;zbekiston xalq artisti (1973). Sozandalikni dastlab otasi T. Shomatov, akalari Karimsher, Abdulla va Muhammadalilar, keyinchalik S. Siddiqovdan, kuy bastalashni T. Jalilovdan o&#8217;rgangan. Toshkent konservatoriyasining tayyorlov kursida o&#8217;qigan (1947-49). T. dastlab mohir sozanda sifatida tanilgan. Andijon (1932\u2014 34), Farg&#8217;ona musiqali teatrlarida sozanda va musiqa rahbari (1934-39), Muqimiy teatri (1939\u2014 46), O&#8217;zbekiston radioqo&#8217;mitasi xalq cholg&#8217;u asboblari orkestrida sozandakontsertmeyster (1946-67) va rahbar (1949-53) bo&#8217;lib ishlagan. &#171;Ushshoq&#187;, &#171;Segoh&#187;, &#171;Nasri Segoh&#187;, &#171;Dugoh&#187;, &#171;Farg&#8217;ona Buzrugi&#187;, &#171;Surnay Buzrugi&#187;, &#171;Chapandozi Bayot&#187; kabi o&#8217;nlab maqom yo&#8217;llari, &#171;yalang Davron&#187;, &#171;nisor&#187;, &#171;Munojot&#187;, &#171;Tanavor&#187;, &#171;Tong otguncha&#187; kabi xalq kuylarini, o&#8217;zi bastalagan &#171;kezarman&#187;, &#171;Guljamol&#187; va b. murakkab asarlarni ijro etgan. T. O&#8217;zbekiston radiosida Uyg&#8217;ur ansambli (1967-78), O&#8217;zbek xalq etnografik ansambli (1978-79), &#171;Dutorchi qizlar ansambli&#187;ning tashkilotchisi va badiiy rahbari (1979-94, 1996 y.dan T. nomida), &#171;maqom&#187; ansambli badiiy rahbari (1987-88) bo&#8217;lib, o&#8217;zbek mumtoz musiqasi rivojiga katta hissa qo&#8217;shgan. T. unutilib ketgan ko&#8217;plab ashula, Yalla, laparlarni tiklab, kontsert dasturlarini boyitgan. Bastakorlikni Farg&#8217;ona teatrida boshlagan. &#171;Layli va Majnun&#187; (1935), &#171;Farhod va Shirin&#187; (1936) kabi spektakllarga uning kuylari kiritilgan. Keyinchalik B. Zeydman bilan hamkorlikda &#171;Qari qiz&#187; (T. To&#8217;la librettosi, 1965) musiqali dramasini yaratgan. Ijodida o&#8217;zbek va uyg&#8217;ur xalqlari musiqa merosi an&#8217;analarini uyg&#8217;unlashtirib, 400 ga yaqin asar (asosan, qo&#8217;shiq, Yalla, cholg&#8217;u kuy va ashula)larida o&#8217;ziga xos Qurama uslub yaratishga muvaffaq bo&#8217;lgan. &#171;Istadim&#187;, &#171;Ey, begim&#187;, &#171;qora zulfing&#187; (Navoiy she&#8217;rlari), &#171;Hayhay sanam&#187;, &#171;Uldiroyin dermisan&#187; (Mashrab), &#171;Menga nomehribon bo&#8217;ldi&#187; (Huvaydo), &#171;dedimki&#187; (Bedil) kabi ashulalari keng tarqalgan. Uyg&#8217;ur ansabli uchun kuy va qo&#8217;shiqlar (&#171;Uyg&#8217;ur qizlari&#187; va b.), &#171;Andijon sanami&#187; nomli 3 qismli vokalraqs syuita yaratgan. Uyg&#8217;ur 12 muqomini tiklashda faol qatnashgan. T. 1930-y. lardan Yusufjon qiziq, J. Sultonov va boshqalar bilan askiya janrining ustalaridan bo&#8217;lib, uning ommaviylashuviga hissa qo&#8217;shgan.
