Irsiy kasalliklar jinsiy hujayralarning xromosomalaridagi o&#8217;zgarishlarga bog&#8217;liq ekanligi aniqlandi. Mac, xromosomalar soni yoki strukturasining o&#8217;zgarishi bir qancha kasalliklar (Daun kasalligi va b.) ga sabab bo&#8217;ladi. Irsiy kasalliklarning yuzaga chiqishchiqmasligi ko&#8217;pincha muhit omillariga bog&#8217;liq.
